What You Need to Know About Australian Quarantine
AQIS controls the importation of fresh or packaged food, fruits, eggs, vegetables, seeds, plants, and plant products. Any items that could potentially carry diseases or pests are subject to inspection upon your arrival.
If you’re carrying any of these restricted items in your hand luggage, AQIS may inspect them. Items found to be prohibited will be confiscated and destroyed. Therefore, it is crucial to declare any such items by ticking the relevant box on the Customs, Quarantine, and Wildlife statement you will receive before arriving. Failure to declare prohibited items can lead to fines.
