Getting the bird to the vet safely

I once had to look after sulphur crested cockatoo and take it to the vet as we were worried it was sick.
It wasn’t that easy! We had to get some newspaper and a towel to try and cover its head, then place it in a dog cage to transport it to the vet surgery. The bird in no way liked this treatment so always having people to help you is a must!
You will get scratched let me tell you that now! But as long as you remain strong with the bird and not too aggressive then you will find you can control the situation.
