HLT40307 CERTIFICATE IV IN MASSAGE THERAPY PRACTICE
This course will equip you with the knowledge and skills to establish a private practice or work alongside other health care professionals in a clinical setting.
The course content is combined into the following study units:
• Anatomy and physiology
• Aromatherapy, Swedish and Therapeutic Massage
• Occupational Health and Safety and Infection Control
• Clinic Practices
• Business Practices

This course is a stepping stone to further educational career in health and natural therapy.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
ENGLISH: For students whose first language is not English, the required minimum English language levels is IELTS 5.5 (General or Academic) with no individual score less than 5.0 or equivalent assessment.
Please note: Test results are valid for 2 years. TNQ TAFE will accept ISLPR results from approved TAFE Queensland test centres.
ACADEMIC: The minimum requirements can be one of the following:
Certificate II or III – 10 years of schooling (or equivalent) with passes in mathematics and English
Certificate IV or Diploma – 12 years of schooling (or equivalent) with passes in mathematics and English
Mature-aged entry with work experience in a related field
Please send certified and translated copies of your English results and academic certificates to the
International Student Unit together with your completed and signed application form.

ORIENTATION
One week prior to course commencement: Students except those from Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, South Africa, Zimbabwe, UK and USA must participate in a five day orientation period (fees apply).
Friday morning prior to course commencement: All students must participate in orientation session from 10.30 am to 12.30 pm.
DELIVERY may include lectures, practical sessions, observations and vocational placement. You may be required to attend evening classes and/or weekend activities.
ASSESSMENT is competency based (practical) and continuous, and is considered an integral part of your learning and development. As appropriate, exams, assignments, projects, practical tests and student presentations are used. You must successfully complete all subjects to progress to the next course or obtain the qualification.
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING recognises your existing experience gained through life or work for which you do not have a formal qualification. It is important that you apply for recognition of your skills, when you enrol or in your first week. Gaining recognition does not always mean a reduction in tuition fees or length of study.
