Melbourne, like Sydney, is experiencing strong growth in the services sector with the Accounting, Sales and IT & Telecommunications sectors being the major recruiting sectors for job seekers in Melbourne.
The Accounting sector has advertised 1295 jobs in Melbourne on the Yahoo jobs Australia & New Zealand website. This is followed by the Sales sector (1157) and IT & Telecommunications (1112).
Thus competition for jobs in these sectors is fierce and there are greater opportunities for employment compared to other sectors such as Education, Trades and the Community sectors.
But it is surprisingly the Health sector which is popular with most job seekers even though the number of jobs advertised is 354. This only serves to highlight the dynamic and vibrant nature of the services sector in Melbourne.
