Aboriginal Doctor Honoured as Woman of the Year
A leading indigenous medical researcher, Professor Sandra Eades, has been honoured as the 2006 New South Wales Woman of the Year. Professor Eades holds thedistinction of being the first Aboriginal medical doctor to be awarded a PhD for her services to  pediatric and perinatal epidemiology. She hold the dual academic positions of seniorresearch fellow in Aboriginal health at the Sax Institute in Sydney and conjoint professor in the faculty of public health at the University of Newcastle, a leading research university in the field of Aboriginal health.
